this analemantic sun dial was designed to be scaled up with an analemma (the vertical pole that cast the shadow to tell time) that was 10 ft tall.  this type of sundial, designed for its exact location latitude and longitude when properly installed, can be set to the current day's date by sliding the analemma along a bar, and will show the exact local time.
